Zoo Boo Part Three

We decided to hit up Zoo Boo one more time with Finley's friend Wyatt.  We saw Ryan and Lily there as well.  Finley had a blast showing Wyatt around.  First, she showed him her zoo favorite, the meerkats.  After that, they ran over to see the baby elephant and pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.  They both got to see the cougar and tiger walking around, which was very exciting.  Of course, they got some super fun ramp running time in.  Then we hit the children's zoo to play at the playground.  There was some candy and trunk or treating mixed into the morning.  It was a great time at the Houston Zoo.

Halloween Party at Ryan and Lily's House

Ryan and Lily hosted an amazing Halloween party yesterday.  There were lots of yummy treats, cookies to decorate and crafts to make.  Finley had a blast.  Courtney and Kendall were dressed as Mickey and Minnie Mouse.  Finley was enamoured with their costumes.  She loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse very much and the twins looked so cute.  Riley was dressed as Dorothy.  Ryan and Lily were dressed as Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, they were precious.  Ryan had the same interest level as Finley did in wearing his costume hat.  Don't they understand how cute the hats are on them?  All the kids were having so much fun playing in the backyard.  Finley was so happy to run around in the grass.  Sarah did an amazing job with all the details and there was so much yummy food.  Finley had two plates of food (countless chicken nuggets) and more cupcakes than I care to say (at least they were mini sized!)

Finley Loves Stickers

Finley got a sheet of animal stickers in the mail today from Grammy and Grandad.  Within five minutes, every single sticker on the sheet had made its way onto her shirt and one founds its way to her little neck.

Happy Halloween Mansion

The Houston Children's Museum has a special Happy Halloween Mansion set up for Halloween.  Clifton took Finley on Saturday, but he neglected to grab any photos.  We met our friends Melissa and her ladybug daughter at the Tot Spot for some spooky Halloween fun.  The two girls are getting so adventurous, it was nearly impossible to get a photo of the two of them together.

After playtime at the Tot Spot, we headed downstairs to trick-or-treat at all the special stations set up throughout the museum.  Finley had such a good time gathering all her treats.  And she didn't even try to eat any while we were there!  This is a big step, maybe she is ready for Halloween night.  I still have visions of Finley cramming all the candy she can into her mouth, wrappers and all...
We got an insane number of compliments on Finley's clown costume and she wasn't even wearing her hat.  One woman said it was the most gorgeous Halloween costume she had ever seen, and I totally agree.  I am just thrilled she loves to wear it, even though she isn't fond of the hat.

Samantha's 2nd Birthday

We had a fantastic time at Wonderwild this weekend to celebrate Samantha's second birthday.  Finley had fun climbing all around with Clifton.  They even went down the big inflatable slide once together.  She only did it once though...she didn't like it that much!  She has grown up so much, she really likes jumping and playing at the bounce houses now.  Of course, she is still the last kid eating!

First Finger Painting

Finley does not like to be messy.  She will play in a sand box, but only if she is standing outside of it with a shovel.  If she spills a bit of her drink, she wants it mopped up straight away.  If he fingers get dirty, she wants them wiped off.  When she is at the gym playroom, she insists on picking up the toys before she leaves.  She is a very neat little girl.
I had bought finger paints awhile back, but I was worried about how she would do with them.  She MUCH preferred to "paint" with the popsicle stick that came with the set to stir the paint.  Next time, I won't bring the stick out.  She still would only dip one finger in.  And asked to have her hands wiped about every 30 seconds.  She was very proud of her painting, so we hung it on the refrigerator.  I am thinking about getting it laminated for a placemat for her.  It would make all her cleaning up a little bit easier.

The funny thing is that she was wearing an old t-shirt of mine in order to not mess up her clothes.  I am shocked at how well it fits her!  And I think I would be equally shocked at how badly it fits me now...

Halloween Party

Our Friday playgroup had a Not So Scary Halloween Party at our house this week.  We had such fun costumes: Max as the "Count", Wyatt as a pirate, Audrey as a ladybug, Tessa as Belle, Nico as a bumblebee, Ana Sofia as a pink fairy, Ryaln as Dracula and Mimi as a witch.  The kids decorated pumpkins with their names on them and jack-o-lantern faces.  We feasted on pumpkin bread, fruit and Candy Corn cupcakes.  Everyone had such a fun time.  Finley was the cutest clown.

Grammy made Finley's clown costume and Max's mom altered it to fit.  I have to scan a picture of Finley's Aunt Rose dressed up as a clown for Halloween, their costumes are very similar.

Zoo Boo Part Two

We couldn't go without sharing the Zoo Boo fun with Clifton, so we all walked over to the zoo right when it opens to check out the Trunk or Treat action and try to get some more pumpkin pictures.  Finley wore the Spooky Kitty Cat dress that Grammy made for her.  We are going to have to do Zoo Boo at least one more time this year with Finley in her clown costume.
