Three weeks old today!

It is Finley's third week and she has celebrated all morning long with lots and lots of crying, lets hope her day gets better soon! Maybe she is just nervous about the Redskins-Giants game, hopefully the Redskins will come out victorious and calm her nerves a bit.

Here are her third week pictures:

Finley had a great time last night when she got to meet the Groves and J. She even had her second trip to a Mexican restaurant.

It's a Rainforest Adventure!

Finley enjoys her Rainforest Gym, but only for short amounts of time. She gets quickly frustrated with not being able to hold her head up for long enough periods to take it all in. Her favorites so far seem to be the elephant and the monkey.

Finley also really likes her hair bows, but her father keeps hiding them from her, poor Finners. Her pink bow was last seen here with Clifton, but it has been missing ever since

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great first Thanksgiving for Finley! She was a bit fussy at the start of dinner, I think she was just very jealous that we got to eat turkey and stuffing...next year, next year. Once again, her Orbit rocks and we pulled it right up to the dining room table to be part of the action.

It's almost time for X-Mas decorating!

I used to think decorating the day after Thanksgiving was early, now I seem to be lagging behind the masses in getting my holiday decor up this year. So many of my friends have already decked their halls (some in October!).

I cross stitched some new stockings for the family and my aunt had them sewn to perfection
I have a small tree ready to put in Finley's nursery, in pink of course!

Does this hat make my head look big?

Clifton picked out Finley's outfit today, little did he know I had a matching beret for it. It fits her head perfectly, but makes her look like a plaid topped cupcake. One cute cupcake...

I am not sure Finley can pull off wearing berets. But really, who can, besides a mime.

X-Mas Card Outtakes

Outtakes might be the wrong word, since it would imply that we got a shot to use, but alas, we did not. I will try again later today. She was super content after eating breakfast, so I thought that would be perfect to try and grab a picture. Of course, once the reindeer antlers were off, she was back to being a happy baby.

Taking in the neighborhood

I have been trying to get out and take Finley on a walk every afternoon since the weather has been so fantastic this week. It has been fun exploring the neighborhood. There is so much right near our house that I have never seen before because it isn't on our usual driving route to and from our house.

The only real annoyance is the spotty sidewalks, it is so random where there are sidewalks and where there aren't. This is most evident in front of our house, we have a sidewalk, but neither of our next door neighbors do. It is the sidewalk to nowhere.

We nearly made it to the grocery store today on our walk, too bad I didn't have my wallet on me or I could have picked up some things.

Maybe I don't need to stock up on as many newborn sized clothes as I thought...

Finley is swimming in her 0 to 3 months clothing, so I was going to go out today and get a bunch of newborn sized outfits since we only had a few. We had our one week doctor appointment today and she is up to 8 lbs, from 7 lbs 4 ounces at her last appointment and has grown 1/2 inch. I will still get her a couple things to sleep in, but at that rate, she will grow into her clothes in no time.

She continues to get lots of compliments about how pretty she is and how she has such a cool stroller. The Orbit has really been great and now that I figured out how to dock the diaper bag to it, it is even easier.

It is my first day home without Clifton today and we have done well so far. We are venturing to Target this afternoon, so that should add some excitement.

A gratuitous picture of her cuteness:

Watch me grow

Finley is a week old today and while I don't think she has grown at all, we still took a snapshot of her progress. She is still very sleepy during the day, but has taken to being quite the awake baby at night.

First bath at home

Since Finley still has her umbilical cord attached, it is only sponge baths for now. She was shocked by the water in the beginning, but by the end of the bath, she was a content (and clean) baby.

Clifton has lots of bath toys ready once she gets older.
Curious about what is going to happen

Not liking it so much

Glad that it is over

Welcome home Finley Anne

Finley Anne arrived on November 9, 2008 at 9:26 a.m. She is completely perfect with the most gorgeous head of dark hair. Finley weighed in at 7 pounds and 11 ounces and is 20 inches long. Her feet are quite big and she loves to kick them. Both Camden and Wrigley are getting to know their new sister.
