Perfect Day

It was warm, sunny and there was fresh snow.  Finley continued her amazing ski skills by adding Adams Avenue (a blue!) to her list of completed runs.  I took the gondola down...ha!

Elk Camp Nights

Much to Finley's disappointment, there isn't any tubing in Snowmass or Aspen. Tubing in Beaver Creek was one of her most favorite things to do. On Friday nights, they have tubing, snow biking and snow slides set up at Elk Camp in Snowmass. And it is only $5 compared to the $50 tubing in Beaver Creek. We got there right when it opened, which meant we were able to get several good tube runs in before the crowds picked up. Finley stuck her hands and feet straight up in the air when she went down, the guys at the top of the hill were all laughing at her, they though she was too cute. Finley is already counting the days until we can go again.

Let's hope Santa remembered Finley's toaster, doctor kit and Doc McStuffins Check-up Center!

Christmas Eve

Finley had quite an exciting day.  We went out to Dunkin Donuts  to select tomorrow's breakfast, lots of frosting, lots of sprinkles and lots of chocolate were her choices.  Then, Grandma, Jack, Aunt Rose and Faith came over to exchange gifts.  Finley got a new scooter and a membership to the zoo, as well as Uno, which we have already played (Finley won!)  We had a fantastic lunch at Pappasitos, a quick dinner at Kam's, then it was time to get the house ready for Santa.  Finley put out reindeer food, a pile of cookies for Santa and hung up her stocking.  After reading Polar Express and Twas the Night Before Christmas, it was time for bed.  Finley is so excited for Christmas.

Christmas Program

Finley had her Christmas Program at school yesterday. She did an amazing job! Three of the children were selected to have "solos" and Finley was one of the lucky performers. She scream-sang into the microphone and did an amazing job. She was so proud of herself. Videos to come, but they are taking forever to upload.

Ski School

Finley has been doing amazing in ski school. Today was her third day and she is now officially Level 4. Which means she skis better than I do. Which isn't saying much.

Her first day she had a little boy in her class, the second she had one other little girl and today she was the only kid in the class. So she has been very lucky to get so much attention in ski school. The best part is that they really do ski most of the day. No movie watching, no playing, just skiing, with some breaks for hot chocolate. Finley just loves it. The last two days she has stayed on the mountain and skied with Clifton and I. Today she and Clifton skied a green that I have trouble with, so I stayed down below to get a video of the end of the run. Her teacher said she is doing a fantastic job, I couldn't be prouder.

Decorating the Tree

tree
We decorated the tree early this year, before Thanksgiving, since it was so late and we were going to be in Aspen for a couple weeks in December. Finley had a blast decorating the tree. I think every branch under four feet on the tree has an ornament on it, that section of our tree is quite colorful. Finley was extra careful and didn't break a single ornament. Unfortunately, I wasn't as careful and I broke one. Whoops!

Skiing!

Finley did great this morning on the slopes. She had a rough start in the morning, due to the fact it was almost 1 am when she went to bed last night after flying to Aspen. After she got her new red skis, we were off to Elk Camp. Finley said she wished she could go faster, the area was a little easier than what she was used to in Vail and Beaver Creek. It was quite cold, in the teens, so we were only out for a couple of hours. It is supposed to warm up on Tuesday, so hopefully we will get more time in once she starts ski school.
