Barcelona: Day Two

We woke up very late (10:15am!) to very rainy skies. We rushed downstairs to catch the last minutes of breakfast, then it was back up to our room to actually get ready for the day. It was pouring out, but it seemed to clear up a bit, so we decided to head out to Mountjuic. We took the subway, then the funicular and finally the cable car. I actually spotted a bit of blue sky over the Mediterranean on the way. We walked into the fortress at the top, climbed up the ramp and it started to pour again. We found a table under cover, played several rounds of I Spy and waited it out. Once it slowed a bit, we walked up to the very top and took in more of the beautiful views. Once we got back to the entrance it was pouring again and quite windy, it was time to head back. Finley had her first taste of tea with some lemon meringue pie, she really liked it. It continued to rain and rain and rain. We ventured out to Via Veneto for dinner. We ate there last time we were in Barcelona and I adore it. It is so old school and the service is over the top. I was nervous Finley was not going to do well, but she was fantastic. The servers treated her like royalty and she had so much fun. She loved the desserts the best: 5 ice creams, chocolate soufflé and a truffle assortment. She was in heaven! Park Gruell was also on the agenda for today, but we had to cancel due to the rain. And all the museums are closed on Monday! Hopefully the weather improves tomorrow.
