Barcelona: Day One

After two long plane rides and a three hour layover, we made it to Barcelona.  Finley did amazing on the flights, even after we realized her ipad was completely dead.  I had fully charged it the day before, but I forgot that I had changed it to never sleep when we lost power last week and I didn't change it back.  We did get it a charged a little bit in JFK and we were in luck that Planes was showing on the tube tvs in the world's worst aircraft.  Clifton slept about 6 hours, Finley slept about 3 hours and I didn't sleep at all.

We got checked in and unpacked a bit, then grabbed a breakfast snack in the lounge before heading to the Metro.  Two short train trips and we had arrive at La Sagrada Familia.  There was a lot more scaffolding around the outside then I remembered.  We got into the long line to enter, which I was surprised about since it was cold and rainy, and discovered you couldn't climb to the top due to the weather.  It was a bit disappointing, but we made the best of it.  Since our last visit, the interior of the church has neared completion.  Finley liked all the little gates on the stairs to the choir lofts.  She also really liked looking at all the models of the construction.  After touring the museum, we spent the afternoon in the little park across the street from the basilica.  Finley had so much fun playing and getting out some energy.  We took the train back to the hotel for a nap, but we were met with a few delays on one of the lines, so it took longer than expected.

After nap, we had some tapas for dinner.  Finley likes calamari!  She seems to think they are a cross between fries and onion rings, but she ate a bunch.  She tried a little bit of almost everything, she hated the risotto the most (silly girl!)
