Disney World: Day 8

Our last day had to be spent at the best park: Magic Kingdom.  We may have had to fib a little to Finley and tell her that the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was down when it really was not, or else we would have spent our entire time there riding it over and over again.  We started with a ride on Winnie the Pooh, then it was over to ride Dumbo and Barnstormer.  We rode Peter Pan with our fastpasses, then it was on to the Haunted Mansion.  I may have had to direct Finley away from seeing the running Thunder Mountain Railroad.    We then headed over to Tomorrowland to ride the People Mover.  But it had a crazy line, which was shocking!  So we rode the Carousel of Progress instead, of course Finley wanted to ride it twice.  We decided to get in line for the People Mover and just wait it out...Clifton suspected they were holding the line to try to make it look exciting, like a hot club would do.  Then it was on to Buzz Lightyear, Monsters Laugh Floor, Buzz again and ending with the Mickey Dream show at the castle.  It was a truly magical trip and Finley did not want to leave.  We got upgraded on our flight home, so it was a comfy flight back.

Disney World: Day Seven

We once again woke up bright and early to be at Hollywood Studios when it opened, which means 8:30 am even though the scheduled open was for 9 am. Finley signed up for Jedi Training Academy and then we rode Toy Story Midway Mania. Clifton won this time, boo! We saw the Voyage of the Little Mermaid (first time for everyone) and watched the Disney Jr show again while waiting for our fastpasses for Toy Story to be ready. After re rode Toy Story again it was time to get ready for the Jedi Training Academy show. Finley did a great job and was right at the front of the stage. I know she is going to want to do this in California, but the being picked from the audience part makes me nervous. I like the sign up version way better! We had to ride Star Tours after the show and then again after lunch since we had a Jedi with us. We met Lightnin McQueen and Mater on our way to the Lights Motor Action Stunt Show Spectacular. Finley was riveted! There were fast cars, motorcycles and even jet skis. None of us had seen the show before because usually when we are here it only runs once a day, this time of year it is running three times, so it is easier to catch. We ended the day at Hollywood Studios playing with Mike and Sulley. Mike kept knocking off Finley's ears and Sulley was pouting because Finley was paying more attention to Mike. Finley was laughing and giggling like crazy!

After a long nap, we headed to the Magic Kingdom. We rode Pirates of the Caribbean twice and the second time Finley got a little wet, the perils of sitting in the front row when it is hot outside. We rode Big Thunder Mountain, grabbed some dinner, rode Big Thunder again and grabbed a front row spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade. It was the first time I had watched it from Frontierland and it wasn't nearly as crowded. Minnie waved and pointed at Finley's stuffed Minnie, which tickled Finley beyond belief. One more ride on Big Thunder and it was time to end the evening. Our last day is tomorrow and Finley is already saying she wants to move here and never leave. And she wants to ask Grandma, Grammy and Grandad to move here too...

Disney World: Day Six

Today was a big sleeping in day since Finley didn't get to bed until midnight last night. After we were all up and had breakfast, we headed to Epcot to ride the Maelstrom and the boat ride in Mexico. Of course we also fast passed Test Track and rode Spaceship Earth again. The allow the fast passes to design their own car now, but you have to do so in groups of two or three, so of course Finley makes all the decisions in our group. Hence our tiny purple car covered in flowers. At least we won in the power portion of the simulation. We also upgraded our passes to RFID while we were in Epcot, lets hope that doesn't mess with the Disneyland portion for our trip in May.

After Epcot we headed to Animal Kingdom to catch the Jammin Jungle parade we had missed earlier in the week. We got a great spot in the shade right along the parade route. Finley got to meet every walking character in the parade, including Pluto who spent a ton of time with Finley and her new Pluto animal. The new Pluto animal completes her Mickey and Friends collection: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy (from France!) and Pluto. Each came from a different trip and she loves them dearly. If you notice in the pictures, she always selects one friend to accompany her to the parks each day. This trip she also brought Figaro (Minnie's cat) and Sorcerer Mickey (from our last trip.)

After the parade it was straight to the Magic Kingdom. Finley met Mickey Mouse and then we all watched the Move It Shake It parade. We then boarded the train for Frontierland with the intention of riding Big Thunder Mountain. Turns out it was down due to technical difficulties, but my phone had told me all the fast passes for Splash Mountain were gone. My phone was wrong and we grabbed two passes (I don't think I will ever get Clifton on it again, we got soaked earlier in the week) then watched the Tiki Birds show while we waited. After Splash (Finley's new favorite ride, note to Grammy: you are riding this with her 100 times in Disneyland and I will watch our stuff!) we took the train back around to the front entrance since it had been a long day (3 parks!) and the weather was looking a bit nasty. The monorail had some issues and we ended up stopped for a long time while the pulled the train in front of us out of service and prepared our train to be pulled from service. As soon as we finally got to our car it started pouring. We have had the worst parking luck this trip and have been the furthest car down the row nearly every time we park. Makes the resorts on the monorail look all the better.

Disney World: Day Five

It was quite an early start this morning because we wanted to be at the Magic Kingdom when it opened. When we arrived, the monorail was not running, so for the first time ever we took the ferry. Finley was not pleased. We made it in time for the opening show, which made Finley happy again. We headed straight to Belle's Enchanted Tales and once again Finley was lucky enough to get picked for a big part: Phillipe the horse. She got to gallop and neigh with Belle, she was thrilled. We then rode Winnie the Pooh, The Little Mermaid and Peter Pan to complete our Fantasyland visit. We headed over to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain a couple of times and Splash Mountain (much to Clifton's dismay.) We were in the front row and got soaked. So we headed out of the park for lunch at Friendly's complete with a monster sundae.

After lunch we spent some time at the pool, which may have been a bit much for Finley. So after 10+ times down the water slide, it was time for a nap. After nap we returned back to the Magic Kingdom (monorail!) for the night. We were able to ride Aladdin's Carpets, Pirates and the Jungle Cruise in no time flat. Then it was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad three times since it is Finley's favorite. We had planned to watch the Main Street Electrical Parade, but it was crazy crowded. We opted instead to ride Dumbo, Barnstormer and visit with characters. After that we rode on Tomorrowland Speedway (Finley made me drive,) Astro Orbiter (during the fireworks!) and caught Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. It was a very full day and Finley was having a blast!
