On Sunday, Grandad picked Finley and I up to go to the brand new TDECU Stadium for Community Day. TDECU is the new home for the Houston Cougars and Grandad is lucky enough to go to the game (we will be in Disney World.) No worries, once it cools off, Finley will be happy to go and cheer for her favorite team, the Houston Cougars. It was really hot, but we all enjoy the $1 hot dogs and popcorn in the shade. Finley has most enjoyed playing with the megaphone she got in her new UH tote bag. That night, she set up a stadium in our living room. It was a fancy place, she delivered snacks to you.
Finley had an amazing first day of Kindergarten. It was actually a half day, so we picked her up and took her out to lunch. She chose her favorite restaurant, Pappasitos. Cheese enchiladas, double beans and a brownie sundae for dessert. Finley was so happy to see her friend Mateo from her old school in her class, as well as several of her friends from dance class. She loves her teachers and loves school. We gave her a desk for her American Girl doll to celebrate her first day of school, so she can go to school too.
We spent the fourth swimming at Grammy and Grandad's and then headed home to try and see some fireworks. The weather had different plans. We were able to see a few from our roof deck, but the rain drove us inside after a few minutes. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!
We drove up to Glenwood Springs this afternoon to hike up to Hanging Lake. It is a two mile hike up 1000 feet of elevation. Finley did amazingly well, her favorite thing to do was play in the stream alongside the trail. She was a huge fan of the water.
