Window Wonder

Finley has discovered the huge windows in Katie & Clifton's room. She has spent much time gazing out the window...queen of all she views.

The Replacements

Katie and Clifton have flown off to paradise, so Finley will be spending time with her grandparents, aka Grammy & Granddad. We are super excited, and we will let everyone know how the old folks and little bug are doing via the blog.

A New Toy

My parents arrived on Sunday. Now Finley has everything including the kitchen sink! Decked out in her new bug apron, she spent time "washing" dishes and her hands. Cute!

Super Sunday

Finley screams, "Saints Score! Yea!"

New Chair Fun

We got two new chairs for the Ms Pac Man machine. Finley had great fun playing in them!

Clifton and I are headed to the Maldives and London for a couple of weeks. My parents are coming to town to watch Finley. I wonder if I can teach them how to post a couple of blogs while we are gone?

So that is what it takes to get Snuggles

Auntie Kristina came over to babysit today while I went to my lunch at the Westview School with my penpals. They had lunch together and did a whole lot of playing. I came home to find them snuggled up watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I was shocked! Finley is not a cuddly baby, she hates it. Kristina said they had been sitting together for about a half hour...I am jealous! I wish I could get some Finley snuggles. We will have to have Auntie Kristina over more often in order to have Finley get more accustomed to snuggling. Big thanks to Auntie Kristina for spending time with Finley today, it was a great help to me!

Making Friends with Camden

Of the two cats, Wrigley is definitely Finley's best buddy. Camden is generally disinterested in Finley and usually scampers away whenever she is in sight. But not today! Finley was doing her best to try to become friends with Camden, but Camden wasn't having it. Gently petting Camden...
Very nice!
Awww...
Giving her a hug.
Sharing her cookie snack
Finley loves Camden!
Camden isn't so sure about Finley
Finley is sharing her Cheerios with Camden
Camden escaped to the top of the couch, but Finley climbed up to play

Loving Being Home

My first three days as a stay at home mom have been pretty fantastic. Finley is generally a joy to be around and I am having so much fun with her. She is currently obsessed with books (yay!) and her coats. I don't understand the coat obsession, but it is freaking adorable. If she sees one of her coats lying around, she wants it. We dressed one of her bears in her fleece jacket and she loves it. Such a silly bug.

Impromptu Playdate

Apparently, the service due on my car was a bit more than a routine oil change (PSA don't buy a 4WD vehicle unless you need one!). Luckily, the dealership hooked us up with a loaner vehicle and we were already half way to Sugar Land. Riley, Kendall and Courtney were available for some playtime. As you can see, it is good we never invested in a play yard, Finley wasn't having it! We had a great time with the girls and our looking forward to many more play dates to come.

Saves you money...TODAY

Finley and I made the ultimate sacrifice in the quest to find a nice dresser for our bedroom, we went to Gallery Furniture. She had a ball. They had a lady bug stroller cart thing that I pushed her around in. The grocery store cart is going to seem super boring in comparison! They have monkeys who live in the store and Finley was fascinated by them. It certainly has a better delivery policy (buy it today, get it tonight) than Ethan Allen (we are on month #3 waiting for our couch and chaise), but they didn't have any pieces I liked.

Anyone know where to get a nice dresser? I love this one at Ethan Allen, but I don't want to wait months and months and months for it...

Bundled Up

It has gotten cold again in Houston, I miss the 70 degree weather, the near-freezing temperatures just aren't cutting it. Sadly, it means no outdoor activities for Finley. We did venture out to Kroger today to take advantage of the awesome sales going on right now. We were able to save $76, bringing our bill to $58. We got so much stuff. Unfortunately, Finley decided it would be great fun to take all the batteries off the display while we were at the check out. She got them everywhere! All in our cart, all over the floor. Finley went grocery shopping with G-Ma on Friday, she was good for her, thank goodness!

Charming at Amazon

We went to dinner tonight at Amazon, great food and all the plantain chips you can handle. Finley charmed the manager so much, he gave her a t-shirt!

Mommy's Helper

Finley was super 'helpful' tonight as I got the table ready for the girls' dinner I am hosting to celebrate my semi-retirement on Friday night. She kept trying to play with the placemats, such a cutie! Finley is toddling around everywhere she goes and had another haircu this morning. Her hair grows so quickly, just like mine does. She is understanding so much more now. I ask her if she wants to nap or go to bed, she immeadiately starts to climb the stairs. She also knows to get a book to read from her bookshelf before she goes to bed for the night. Such a smart little girl.

First Trip to the Petting Zoo

The weather was once again fantastic, so we headed over for some pre-football zoo fun. Finley made her first visit with the goats that call the Children's Zoo their home. Finley was very gentle with the goats and petted them all very nicely. She really enjoyed walking around the petting zoo area and visiting with each of the goats. After that, she and Clifton climbed around the prairie dog exhibit. Of course we had to visit her favorites, the flamingoes. Sadly, we had our first lost stuff incident with Finley. Her sippy cup is somewhere at the zoo...
