Rodeo Festival

Finley had a Rodeo Festival today at school.  Miss Courtney made her adorable Texas outfit and Finley wore the cowboy hat from Max's birthday party.  The festival was supposed to be outside, but cool weather and the threat of rain moved things indoors. There were wagon rides, a petting zoo, stickers, tattoos, stick horses and all sorts of rodeo themed fun. Finley had so much fun playing with all her friends and participating in the activities.  Such a cute cowgirl!

 On Thursday, Grammy, Granddad and Finley explored the Houston Aquarium.  Finley was fascinated by the stingrays from her bubbly view and enchanted by the regal White Tigers.  She was sure to take Nemo, who was equally thrilled to swim with his friends, albeit on the wrong side of the glass.  Lunch and fun rides rounded out this delightful day.

We're Home!

Clifton and I have been in Singapore and Bali for the past two weeks. We arrived home on Sunday and were SO happy to see Finley. We were able to Skype with her almost every day we were gone. She had Grammy and Grandad spoiling her here in Houston, so I don't think she missed us terribly much. While we were gone she helped them pick out their new house here in town. It even has a diving board, which Finley is most excited about.  Finley is very excited to show off her swimming skills.

 Grammy and Granddad have been here in Houston for 2 weeks.  Even though the weather has been dreary, the days have been bright with fun and frolic!
 Between house hunting and school, we have been able to squeeze in some little adventures.

 Kate's party was held at the "Little Gym."  What a great way to end the weekend.  It was a running, jumping, skipping great time.  The smiles were wide and genuine.  Happy Birthday, Kate!

The Rodeo is in Houston this week, and the celebrations have begun!  Finley dressed for the occasion in her pink cowgirl boots and her cowgirl dress.  When she arrived at school, Grammy was astonished to discover ponies in the yard.  Finley just took it all in stride.  After an exciting western day at school, we enjoyed a not-so-western pizza and gelato dinner at Luigis.  So for all you cowhands out there, I highly recommend the scrumptious pizza at Luigis.   It's been a mostly dreary week here in Houston, but as we munched on our pizza, we were regaled by a sunset which painted the Houston skyline in a vibrant pink.  Unfortunately, the i-phone photo did not do it justice.  Yee-ha, what a way to end the week!
