Tiny Bubbles

I got a bubbles set for fifty cents at Walgreens, Finley had lots of fun watching the bubbles and trying to catch them. I got some really funny shots of her, she kept trying to keep her eyes open to watch the bubbles, but at the same time her reflex was to blink when they got near her face. I bet she is really going to love bubbles once she is old enough to blow them herself.

Also, Finley is really getting mobile. She loves to army crawl, but she gets frustrated with Clifton and I if we try to entice her and move what she is after to make her crawl more.

Quite possibly, the worst Finners picture ever:

Finley can Feed Herself

Finley loves her banana puffs, mainly because she can eat them herself. They keep her entertained while I get the rest of her meal ready. This morning only one of the whole bunch made it to the ground. This is a huge improvement from where she started, where I think the majority got crushed in her hands or wound up on the floor.

Her menu has really expanded. She loves fresh cherries in yogurt, pretty much any fruit in yogurt is a huge hit. She even ate pureed spinach yesterday, a little Popeye! The only food she still doesn't like is avocado, which is so shocking. It is such a tasty food. I am going to get some tiny pasta for her to try for lunch next week. We tried some 10 grain bread mixed in with her oatmeal yesterday, she thought it was so-so.

We're Rocking

Finley is getting really close to crawling. She is getting up on all fours and rocking away. It looks like she could take off at any second. We got out the outlet covers today to get the house baby proofed. We have a feeling once she is mobile, she is going to be EVERYWHERE.

She also has cut a new tooth! This one was much easier for her than the first, she wasn't nearly as fussy. Hopefully, this is a trend for the future. She is going to have two bottom teeth in no time.

Finley Loves Water from a Straw

While we were out at Ninfa's, I hadn't brought a sippy cup to go with her dinner, so I improvised with a straw. She went nuts for it! I now use this same tactic at home, which has really increased her water intake, which is a very good thing.

She is really improving in attempting to feed herself. She grabs so many Puffs at a time and tries to shove them all in. Then she coughs when she realizes how many she has in her mouth. It is the funniest thing. Wrigley stalks her below, the Puffs container makes the same sound as Wrigley kitty cat food. Silly Wriggles!

Rolling and sort of Crawling

Finley was in a fantastic mood this morning. Everyone at Central Market was taken by her, she was so smiley and fun. This morning at CVS the cashier told her that she had "funny eyes, beautiful funny eyes" and that I had the same funny, yet beautiful, eyes. I guess we will take it as a compliment.

She was rolling all around this morning while we tried to grab her picture. She sort of attmepts to crawl by just lunging her left arm forward, but then her right arm gets stuck and she goes back to rolling to get where she needs to go. She made the first grab at the electrical outlet, I am guessing we need to get them babyproofed now. She was laughing the entire time, especially when Clifton tickled her.

Thirty-Five Weeks

Finley was in a much better mood this week!

Playtime Fun

We had what seemed to be all of Finley's toys this morning out to play with. The ABC wheel was singing that "the animal's have something to say", the octopus was saying colors en francais, the play table was singe the alphabet song and the animal training kept making elephant sounds. It was a fun morning and Finley loved all the excitement.

Miss Finley (and Mommy) are Quite Upset

J got his table for the WSOP today. And he is sitting with Phil Hellmuth. My absolute favorite poker player ever (except for J, of course).

We both feel cheated. Hrmph.

Eight Months Old

I cannot believe Miss Finley is already eight months old. She is still pretty tiny, about 16 pounds and 27 inches. She is still in size 2 diapers and is just starting to outgrow her 3 to 6 months clothes. She is making no progress towards crawling, but she loves to stand and play at her table. She also has really become fiesty, she lunges towards anything she wants with absolutely no fear. I guess since she cannot crawl to get places, lunging is what works for her. Her hair is also growing longer, soon enough she will be able to sport pigtails!

Can we go to Vegas?

Pleeeeease...

Clifton's friend J has survived Day 2 in the World Series of Poker Main Event and is getting geared up for day 3 on Friday. Don't you think Finley and I would make a great cheering section? He would certainly have the cutest baby rooting for him.

And Finley is already showing her poker prowess, I swear she only ever reached for the aces...
