It is Finley's third year at pre-school and she couldn't be more excited. We got to school about five minutes before the start and she couldn't wait to go in her class. I still cannot believe we are starting her last year of pre-school. It seems like just yesterday she was starting school. I am so thrilled she enjoys it so much. A look back at the first day of school 2011 and 2012, her backpack is still going strong!
Finley took her first ever chairlift ride today and so did daddy. We took the Gondola up to Elk Camp in Snowmass and then took the chairlift up to the top of the mountain. Finley did great on the chairlift, she wasn't scared at all, she even held her hands up for most of the ride. She compared riding it to Soarin'! Hopefully it will be that easy in the winter with skis on.
Finley woke up with a sore throat, stuffy nose and didn't want to eat breakfast. We got to Aspen last night, so I don't have my usual sick kid stuff here (not even a thermometer!) I am 99% sure she has a fever, poor bug. She just wants to lay around and watch Cailou. Hopefully she is feeling better soon!
The week before we left for Chicago, Max came over to play with Finley at the Children's Museum. We had intended to go out on the boat, but rain got in our way. I think the kids were just as happy with the Museum!
Finley wanted to return to The Bean to do some more climbing, so we headed over there for the morning. There was a kid's area where she made a Chicago kite that she colored to look like the Chicago flag. She has really enjoyed playing with the kite. The symphony was practicing for their concert on Wednesday night, so we spent a little time listening to the music. After that we hopped on the subway to check out Wrigley Field. The Cubs had two games with the Milwaukee Brewers and we had tickets to the afternoon game. Finley had a hot dog and nearly an entire tray of nachos. We stopped at the gift shop on the way out to pick up a hat for Max since "he loves baseball!" We had dinner at Rosebud, which is the same owners as Carmines, so Finley could get some more "Daddy pasta" aka fettucine alfredo. She loves it!
