Finley and I went to Sarah's house for a fun playgroup playtime yesterday afternoon. Sarah has a great big playroom that is perfect for all the little ones. Finley was great with all the other kids and the hit of the party was definitely the water bottles, I think every kid wanted one or two! We got to meet Avery and Caroline, the twins of one of my former co-workers, who have just joined our playgroup...so fun!

Finley admiring the twins' rocking horse skills She snacked on Goldfish the whole time we were there (big surprise!) A pink horse and a pink cell phone? Pink-fection! The hostess with the mostess
Finley has figured out how to get in our pantry, locate the raisins (or goldfish crackers) and open the box and get some to eat. She must have eaten her weight in raisins this afternoon, she wasn't into raisins a few weeks back, but she is now obsessed with them.
We went to my old office this morning to pick up the Girl Scout cookies I had ordered from a co-workers daughter. Finley was super shy meeting everyone, but let my designers carry her around for a bit. It was great seeing everyone at the office, especially since it was Finley's first time meeting them in person (though they have all been bored by countless pictures of her).
Usually Finley and I will share a cupcake, but Clifton treated her to an entire cupcake. After she was finished, she was pointing at the cupcake containers desperate for another!
Finley settled for some raisins instead of a second cupcake and she tried to share them with Wrigley, so cute.
Our jet lag is still in overdrive (note that I am posting this at 4:30am), so I made a big breakfast for Finley and Clifton yesterday morning: bacon, eggs and toast. Then, Clifton came home for lunch, which is always a special treat for Finley: grilled turkey and cheese. And our first family dinner since we have been home: chicken pot pie. We loved all the delicious meals we had in the Maldives and in London (I am still especially missing the fresh squeezed orange juice), but we are both so happy to be home sharing meal time with little Finley.
Grammy, Grandad, and Finley walked to the park today. We had such great fun, climbing, picnicking, sliding, and tunneling. Finley's Mommy and Daddy will return from London tomorrow, so Finley is very excited. Grammy & Grandad have enjoyed each and every moment with their precious, grandchild: Miss Finley Anne! Thank you for sharing our memorable moments.
On Wednesday, Grammy, Grandad & Finley walked to Hermann Park. We enjoyed a lunch at "Little Bigs," lakeside. Then the fun began...with Olympic spirit, Finley challenged the pigeons, careened across the hills, scrambled over the obstacle walls, and sailed down the pathways with joy and abandon.
Grammy & Grandad took Finley Anne for a walk to the Houston Butterfly Center. It was rather a sentimental journey as Katie & Clifton were married there almost 5 years ago. Finley was mesmerized by all the flitting butterflies, and she was delighted with the walkways through the leafy jungle. What a memorable and amazing afternoon!
Finley spent the morning playing with 2 colored straws. The afternoon found her enjoying more conventional toys: an apron, dishes & a kitchen... both brought laughter and delight.
Finley wishes all her friends, family, and her Mommy & Daddy a Happy Valentine's Day! Thank you Max for the heart treats, and thank you Ryan, Aunt Sharon & Uncle Al for the cards.
