Finley had an amazing first day of Kindergarten. It was actually a half day, so we picked her up and took her out to lunch. She chose her favorite restaurant, Pappasitos. Cheese enchiladas, double beans and a brownie sundae for dessert. Finley was so happy to see her friend Mateo from her old school in her class, as well as several of her friends from dance class. She loves her teachers and loves school. We gave her a desk for her American Girl doll to celebrate her first day of school, so she can go to school too.
We spent the fourth swimming at Grammy and Grandad's and then headed home to try and see some fireworks. The weather had different plans. We were able to see a few from our roof deck, but the rain drove us inside after a few minutes. I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th!
We drove up to Glenwood Springs this afternoon to hike up to Hanging Lake. It is a two mile hike up 1000 feet of elevation. Finley did amazingly well, her favorite thing to do was play in the stream alongside the trail. She was a huge fan of the water.
On Saturday morning, we headed over to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. We had quite and early start and we were one of the first people there. Finley loved going in and out of all the rooms, I cannot wait to take her to Mesa Verde so she can see it on a grander scale. Thankfully, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We headed over to the Ghost Town Museum to pan for some gold and check out some antiques from the westward expansion.
