On Saturday morning, we headed over to the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. We had quite and early start and we were one of the first people there. Finley loved going in and out of all the rooms, I cannot wait to take her to Mesa Verde so she can see it on a grander scale. Thankfully, there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We headed over to the Ghost Town Museum to pan for some gold and check out some antiques from the westward expansion.
We headed out to Colorado Springs for the weekend, it rained our entire drive there except the time we stopped at the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. The weather gods were certainly on our side. We did a mile long hike along the petrified stumps loop, there were some very large stumps that had been excavated. Finley also spotted several ground squirrels that were all around the area.
We headed up to Independence Pass today, exactly one year after we did last year. Finley was excited to see the backcountry skiers, there were lots of people out enjoying the holiday. We attempted to sled, but we weren't successful. We headed back to town and enjoyed a picnic lunch right on the river.
