Finley was a bit grumpy on Easter, over tired and over excited. She was happy to celebrate with Daddy, Aunt Rose, cousin Faith, Grammy and Grandad. It was an American Girl Easter, with a new doll, hot dog cart and cat with a carrier. Finley did not enjoy the Easter ham, but she loved the rolls...a girl after my own heart. We have basket fulls of Easter candy, filled with all her favorites. Especially "sherberts" aka Starbursts.
Finley was so excited to color Easter eggs, I think she wanted to color a couple dozen. Sadly, she doesn't enjoy eating hard boiled eggs (neither do I, so I understand.) She is so excited for a visit from the Easter bunny and to give baskets.
Finley had her annual Easter egg hunt at school today. She was so excited for it. She had selected to fill her eggs with KitKats to share with the class. The kids were so crazy when it was time to start hunting for eggs. But the biggest hit of the hunt, was the confetti eggs that the teachers had brought in. Finley had so much fun smashing them on her friends' and teachers' heads, she even smashed one on my head. I think she actually enjoyed having them smashed on her head the best. I am still finding confetti...
We visited Froberg Farms again this year to pick strawberries. We had planned to go a few times, but the weather never really cooperated. And it didn't last week either, but we went anyways and picked strawberries in the misty rain. We ended up with three bucket full and Finley had a blast. When we got home, Finley assisted in making strawberry jam. She personally mashed all the berries and snacked on them along the way.
Aunt Rose, Uncle Ferrell, Faith, Zac and Josh are up in Aspen for Spring Break. We had such a fun day on the slopes! It was a crazy morning, but once everyone got settled in, it turned out we have some fantastic skiers. I am excited to ski tomorrow.
Finley had so much fun at the Rodeo. Her favorite activity was playing Fun at the Farm, which is the same every year, I will be sad when she finally outgrows it. Shockingly, she didn't ask to ride a single carnival ride. We watched the Pig Races and Mutton Bustin, but not a single ride was ridden. She was selected to wave a checkered flag during the pig racing and they even let her keep the flag. She loved the Calf Scramble the best during the actual rodeo events. She also enjoyed both an ice cream sandwich AND a push-up, she had a nice sugar high for the whole train ride home.
Finley still loves visiting the zoo. Our last visit we were lucky to be there while the giraffe feeding area was open. They even gave Finley three extra leaves to feed the giraffes, she was so excited.
