It was a big day in Chicago! We started the day at the American Girl store where Finley selected a new doll. After that we had lunch at the famous Billy Goat Tavern so Finley could try their cheeseburgers that her daddy had shown her on SNL. After lunch we took a lake and architectural boat tour all around Chicago. Finley had so much fun. We then headed over to Navy Pier for some rides and ice cream. Finley was so excited to ride on the dragon at the carousel, just like the circus!
After a great flight, we checked into our hotel and headed straight for the Magnificent Mile. We walked down to the river and Finley had fun spotting the kayaks and boats all along the water. We made a circle loop back to the hotel to try and get Finley a nap, I think we all ended up sleeping except for Finley! Then we head back out for a visit to the American Girl store where Finley got a Kitty cat for her doll that looks just like Bear Friend. We had some pizza at Gino's East, Finley had the kid's regular pizza, but she much preferred our Chicago Style deep dish style. We walked over to Navy Pier to watch the fireworks and end our very long day.
This is the fourth straight year for Finley's daddy-daughter date at the circus. She came home with a dragon and was more giggly than I have ever seen her. They had a fantastic time! A look back at her first year, second year and third year at the circus.
Last month we went to our first baseball game of the season. With the Astros having such an awful team and even worse ownership, we waited until the Orioles game to town to head out to Minute Maid Park. Finley did a great job cheering for the Orioles in the nearly empty stadium. The Orioles won and Finley celebrated with a helmet sundae. Yum!
We took the boat out yesterday for some "boat chicken" and to see if we could spot some dolphins. Galveston Bay was super calm and we saw a least a dozen dolphins! They were everywhere. Finley was spotting them left and right. She is an expert dolphin spotter.
