And now, for the Grandaddy of them all...Bluebonnets!

You've seen Engelmann's Daisy, you've seen Indian Paintbrush, but now it is time for the reeeally big show, the reason for driving out to Bellville...the bluebonnet pictures!

Bye Bye Bluebonnets, see you next year!

Long Bangs

Finley's nanny, Lori, had always cut her bangs. So they have been growing out for quite some time. So much so that they were starting to get into her eyes and I was pinning them back with a hair clip. I had a big debate whether or not I should let them grow out or go ahead and cut them.

Honestly, Finley is gorgeous with bangs or not, so that is what made the decision even harder.

I went ahead and chopped them last night. I am by no means an expert stylist and I am pretty sure the scissors I have are best suited for cutting through gift wrap, but I made a good effort. They aren't perfect, but they were cut with love.  The good news is we no longer have to fight to keep a bow in her hair in order to wrangle her growing bangs.  The bad news is I may not have cut them as straight as I would have liked.  So maybe no pictures of Finley until they grow out a bit more?

Nah...there is no way that could happen.  I will photograph her sassy new do today at our picnic.  And you can see my mad hair cutting skills.

Petting Zoo Pals

Finley and her buddy Max had a playdate at the zoo, they had the best time at the petting zoo.  Any place with a fence to corral these youngsters is a good thing.

Salsa!

Ever since Finley had her first bite of salsa in Mi Tierra in San Antonio, she has loved the stuff. Whether it's green or red, it doesn't matter to Miss Finley, she loves it all. Too spicy for Finley? Impossible. She dips her chip in the salsa and uses it as a spoon to slurp the salsa up. So just be warned, if you are dining on TexMex with Finley, she is going to double dip, there is just no way to stop it.

Here is Finley scooping up her salsa, I am trying to get her to say "salsa".

Here she is actually saying "salsa". It is so cute!

Indoor Picnic

After an afternoon outdoors, Finley and I had an indoor picnic.  We have been working on matching colors, she pairs up all her dishes and now that she has colored eggs, there are even more colors to learn!  Colors pose a challenge and I can see why, it is hard to know things as an "egg" and then when someone shows you a blue egg and a blue plate...overwhelming for Miss F.

Engelmann's Daisy

This is why there are so few shots with two of us...she is so independent!
