Will She Do Windows?

Every morning while Finley eats her breakfast, I sweep up. Dark hardwoods plus a toddler and two long haired kitty cats make for quite the daily mess. I guess Finley has been keenly observing me and she is now my trusty sweep up assistant with the dust pan. It is adorable! Don't worry, she picked up the dustpan all on her own...I wasn't trying to put her to work already~

All About the Beep Beeps

Finley calls cars "Beep Beeps" and when you ask her what a car says, she replies "Beep Beep" and when you drive down the road, she sits in her car seat saying "Beep Beep". It is adorable. She was so happy to have a car magazine to read while we were at the doctor's office...all about the Beep Beeps!

Our Little Sports Fan

We took Finley to the South Regional Elite Eight game today to watch the Baylor Bears take on the Duke Blue Devils. This wasn't Finley's first NCAA basketball game, we all remember her heart lies with the Houston Cougars. Finley did great until there were about eight minutes left of the game. Luckily, we were in club level, so I took her inside to play around. She settled down and we returned to our seats, only to see the Bears defeated. As any good Maryland Terp fan would do, we rooted against Duke, but my luck has been terrible this tourney and the Blue Devils pulled out a victory.

I am so proud of our little sports fan. In her young life she has already been to a Houston Cougars Football and Basketball game, a Houston Texans football game and several Houston Astros games (another game). She is looking forward to Astros opening day next Monday. It is the first time she gets her very own seat!

Quack, Quack

The ducks at Hermann Park are so friendly because they are angling for a stray fry or part of a burger bun from Little Bigs. I figured feeding the ducks with Finley would definitely be a two man operation, so after work on Thursday night we all headed over for some quality time with the ducks. Finley was equally interested in eating the bread as she was in feeding it to the ducks. Poor thing fell a couple of times running around, which resulted in lots of crying, but she was easily calmed with a slice of wheat bread.

Playdates and Free Ice Cream Cones

We met Lori, our former nanny, and her new charge out at the play area at Memorial City Mall. The whole area is great for toddlers to play, as it is all padded. Lori's new charge is only a few months old, so he didn't get to play, but he did enjoy watching everyone have a great time.

Afterwards, we went to Ben and Jerry's for free cone day. I had peanut butter and chocolate, while Finley had a vanilla (translate least messy) cone. She ate the whole cone by herself and didn't spill a single drop. This girl is not about to let a single drop of ice cream go to waste!

An Afternoon at the Zoo with Auntie Kristina

It was a gorgeous day here in Houston and we got to spend the majority of it outdoors at the Houston Zoo with my friend Kristina. We got to see a trainer talk at the elephant exhibit as well as spending some quality time with the goats in the petting zoo. It was a lovely afternoon and Finley is loving the zoo more and more as she grows up. She did get a little crazy in the World of Primates, she jsut wanted to run and run and run...
Ready to go...

Turtles Today

Today Finley can wear her adorable turtle outfit and watch basketball...tomorrow, well, tomorrow is a whole different story. I have been a Terps fan for as long as I can remember. See the Maryland Terrapin bib? Goes well with the avocado oven and dishwasher!I graduated from the University of Houston and I have been a huge fan from day one. But Maryland has always been my tournament team, mainly because UofH has never made it since I started school there back in 1995. Heck, they haven't made it to the NCAA Tournament since 1992. So imagine the excitement when Houston won the Conference USA Tournament for an automatic bid to the Big Dance. And imagine the shock and sadness when they are pitted against Maryland in the opening round.

So, Miss Finley will wear her turtle gear today. And tomorrow she will be all about Cougars and Red and White...

Here are some adorable pictures of her feasting on some queso with Clifton while we watched Baylor defeat SHSU.
Go Coogs! And if for some strange reason the Terps defeat them, we will be solidly behind them to win the National Championship.

Playing in Plano

Miss Finley and I took a big trip up to Plano this week to visit Mister Noah and his mommy. We had such a blast! Noah is beyond adorable~

We visited downtown Dallas with hopes of visiting the Dallas World Aquarium, but being as it was spring break and the line was wrapped around the block, we settled for lunch and visiting the grassy knoll. After an afternoon nap, we hit the park. And Finley hit the ground, literally. Face first down a slide and a bloody lip, poor bug! She was okay after a good cry and I cannot even spot the mark today. She is getting so adventurous.
At the grassy knoll...
Carseat buddies...with toys! Finley was spoiled.
Swing time fun, Finley was in nonstop giggles the whole swing ride. Which of course led to hiccups.
See mom, I can climb...and go down the slide...oh noooooooo....
Such a trooper!
Finley did fantastic on the car ride there and back, phew! She even got her first visit to McDonald's. For the record, she loves McNuggets and will tolerate the apple slices when they are dipped in the carmel sauce...surprise, suprise. That being said, I have NO clue how to carry a tray and a toddler. This was clearly shown as I dumped my drink all over the floor of the McD's off I-45. Whoops!

Being Cute with a Graham Cracker

Finley has been loving graham crackers lately, but it takes her forever to eat one. She can also get on and off Raffers all by herself. Such a big bug!
