I'm cooking in the kitchen...

One of my favorite elementary school songs was the "I'm Hungry" song. It was sung by three groups: the father bear, mother bear and baby bear.

It went like this:

Father Bear: I'm hungry. Very hungry. I'm empty, inside.
Baby Bear would then join in.
Father Bear: I'm hungry. Very hungry. I'm empty, inside.
Baby Bear (repeating father bear right after): I'm hungry. Very hungry. I'm empty, inside.
Mother bear then joins in
Mother bear: I'm cooking in the kitchen, I'm cooking in the kitchen, I'm cooking in the kitchen for father bear. I'm cooking in the kitchen, I'm cooking in the kitchen, I'm cooking in the kitchen for baby bear.

Anyone else remember this song? It all got sung at once and it was really fun. I would sing it whenever I was hungry!

Needless to say, Finley is LOVING cooking in her kitchen. Her new pot set arrived yesterday and she couldn't be having more fun with it if she tried. She loves to stir with the spoon, add food to the pans and move them all around. It is such a treat to get to play with her. I am not ready to send her kitchen to her room just yet.

Playing with my new lens

I used my X-Mas money from my Aunt Sharon to purchase a new lens for my SLR camera. I have really loved it so far, I am still trying to get used to the perspective from it. The main challenge is getting Finley to stay still and not try to grab at the camera. You will see in the pictures that this can be acheived by giving her the tv remote, which she now tries to talk on like a phone. Allo?

Eating with a Spoon

Finley loves to be in control. She has started getting frustrated eating from a spoon when we are feeding her, she much prefers to pick things up herself, but for some things, this just isn't possible. We let her try some pear yogurt with a spoon and she did wonderfully! It just takes her about tens times as long to eat by herself, but she is getting really good at it. Such an independent little girl.

Merry Christmas! Day Two.

The day after Christmas we headed over to Aunt Rose and Uncle Ferrel's house for another celebration. We got to exchange gifts with Finley's cousins, Faith, Zachary and Joshua. We had a great time! Faith gave us one of her favorite books as a kid from the Biscuit book series. Finley also got an extra special animal blanket made by G-Ma, just like the one she had made for Clifton as a kid.

Merry Christmas!

Finley had an amazing Christmas! She started the morning off with some Shipley's Donuts, a family tradition, well, not the Shipley's part, but I had a coupon. Then it was onto the presents. Oh the presents!

Finley got so many amazing gifts, the most amazing being her play kitchen that my dad made. Part one arrived for Christmas, the stove. The sink and refrigerator will be making their appearances in a couple months. She really loves it! She also had a great time putting all the felt food that my mom made for her in and out of the kitchen.

We got her a couple Little People sets. Little People were my favorite toy as a child, so I wanted to share them with her.

Finley got a fantastic musical table from her Uncle Al and Aunt Sharon and a pretty doll from her Uncle Larry and Aunt Joan.

Finley had her tongue stuck out all day, no clue why!
