All is well back in the land of Finley. Her fever is gone and the congestion is so much better. Here's hoping she doesn't get sick again for a nice long while.
Finley started running a fever on Sunday morning. She had been congested and lethargic into Monday, so we took her into the doctor. Too bad half of the kids of our city were there getting swabbed for swine flu. It took us two hours to see our pediatrician and poor Finley was a wreck. Turns out, all we can do for her is give her Tylenol for her fever and use saline to try and clear out her little nose as much as possible. She still had a touch of fever today, so hopefully we are nearing the end of it. This is a baby first I wasn't looking forward to~
We wonder if her 'face' is her trying to clear out her nose. Poor thing!
Finley is showing no signs of crawling anytime soon, but she does try to "swim". When we put something in front of her that she wants and would have to crawl to, she waves her arms and legs as if she is trying to swim. Once she realizes she needs to lift up her tummy, I am guessing we will see some movement. As for now, it is fun to watch her swim and then get frustrated when she makes no progress. To her credit, she keeps on trying! I hope this means she will be a great real swimmer in our pool. Her feet sure are big enough!
Finley is also getting very interactive with her toys. Though the interaction usually ends with her trying to eat what she is after.
G-ma, Cousin Faith, Aunt Rose, Aunt Laurina, Uncle Walter and Aunt Sidonye met us for an afternoon of fun at the zoo. We saw giraffes, elephants, cheetahs and lots more animals. It was quite an enjoyable afternoon at the zoo and Finley was just exhausted when we got home. She hadn't had her midday nap and by the end of our time at the zoo, she was an unhappy zoo-goer.
Finley's most favorite place to hang out is her exersaucer. She loves hitting the duck, cow and lion (only because she cannot reach the cat or dog yet!).
Finley has been making the funniest face lately, even better than her pirate face. She scrunches up her nose and makes a hissing sound. It is as if she has tasted something sour. It is completely adorable and we have no clue where she got it from. She continues to grab for Wrigley and Wrigley continues to take the abuse. Thank goodness she isn’t showing any interest in Camden. I am pretty sure that would not be a fun encounter.
