All sorts of cuteness

and some Jumperoo fun! Finley is overwhelmed with all the Jumperoo has to offer.

Did you see that over there??!!? Amazing.

What is this thing?

I am unsure about this...

I will go back to eating my hands....much more fun!

I came home from work at lunch today and Finley looked like she had grown an inch or two. She is growing so very fast. She is almost three months old, amazing!

Her favorite thing at the moment is trying to eat her hands. She has no interest in toys, just her hands. It is getting hard to take a picture of her smiles because her little hands are always in front of her mouth.

It looks like she is going to keep her hair! JOY!!! She has managed to rub a patch off in the back.

Finley's first Valentine

Grandma (or is it Grammy?) and Grandad (don't call me Pa) Engleman sent Finley her first ever Valentine. We are still not sure what it is, we need to read the accompanying book to figure out what he or she is. Since it is a Dr. Seuss book, we have to read it over the course of a couple nights. Finley doesn't yet have the patience to get through an entire Dr. Seuss book, except her Hop on Pop board book (it is the annotated version). We will start the book tonight to try and figure out who this new love is. She really took to him or her straight away, though Clifton was a bit concerned that she was trying to ingest his or her hair. Thanks for the gift G&G Engleman!

Pacifier Training

Clifton is convinced he can teach (or train) Finley to grab her pacifier and put it back in her mouth. I am not quite sure this will work, as she is the one who spits out her pacifier in the first place, so she obviously isn't interested in putting it back in her mouth...but he keeps at it.

Getting ready...

Yay, I got it!

So what do I do with it?

I can just eat my hands instead...they are just as good as a pacifier anyhow.

See, totally yummy.

Wrigley thinks the whole excercise is pretty dumb.

Trying to perfect the self portrait shot

I get to come home once or twice a day to feed and visit with Finley, which is fantastic because I miss her so very much. Here are some pics of us playing around with the camera.

There's still time...

One of my most vivid memories from childhood is vacationing in California and having pancake shapes. Wayne Kempton made the coolest pancakes and my favorite shapes were when he made letters. I tried it out this morning and I have a few things to work on. I need to 'write' them backwards so the pretty side of the pancake is displayed and I need to figure out how to reign in the batter a bit. When can babies have pancakes anyhow?

Here are the pancakes:

Twelve Weeks Old

Twelve weeks old is a bittersweet milestone, it means I go back to work tomorrow. Luckily, my office is only a few short blocks away, so I will be able to come home a couple of times a day to visit The Bug. Even better, I still have every Friday off. Friday can't get here soon enough!

Swing time!

Since the weather was so lovely today, we decided to test out Finley's tree swing. It was a success. She really enjoyed it. Our neighbors Gina and her son Seth stopped by to say how cute Finley was. It was such a nice afternoon that Clifton, Finley and I all took a walk around the neighborhood. On our walk, I noticed that we are the only swing in our neighborhood with the fancy chains instead of plain rope. Clifton and my dad put the swing up, I think they got a bit carried away!

Even though we were in the shade, Finley still thought it was too bright.

The closest thing to a boyfriend...

that a 2.5 month can have is Max! They have had three dates this week, if she were 25 and they were dating, it would be serious. Now, other babies have been out with us (group dates, a la the Bachelor maybe?), but they have only had eyes for each other. At least that is what their moms tell each other.

They are so in sync, both like naps after driving on IH-610 (and demand the extended drive), Dr Browns bottles and Trumpette socks...they would so my matched on eHarmony.

Should we call a Waaaaah-mbulance?

Finley is dressed in her Dalamtian outfit today, so she would fit in great at a fire station...though she would prefer to be in am waaaah-mbulance with all that crying.

Luckily, a trip to Hobby Lobby and HEB turned those tears right around. Of course, her friend Wrigley was excited to see her when we got home.

Holding her head up!

Finley was great at holding her head up when she was first born, but lately she has been regressing and hasn't been enjoying her tummy time at all. This morning, she was back into holding her head up and I got lots of great pictures of her. Wrigley was hanging out with us the entire time and I got a great shot of her looking out the window at a bird.
