Moose!

We were supposed to see the Snowmass Balloon Festival this morning, but it was rained out.  So we decided to head up to Maroon Bells since Clifton had heard that the leaves had started to change up there (they really hadn't!)  As we walked along the path, a man in front of us pointed up the hill...it was a moose!  He ended up sticking around for quite awhile and we saw him walk all around the lake, even stopping for a drink.  He got real close to us, he wasn't scared at all.  I was!  We also saw a small rock slide at the top of the mountain.  On the drive home we saw a deer scamper across the road. Hopefully the weather clears so we can see the balloon glow this evening.

Disneyland in Instagram

I didn't take my laptop to Disneyland, so it will be a bit before I can sort through the 500 photos I snapped in Disneyland.  I thought I took a lot less photos than normal, maybe not...

Here are some snaps from Instagram from the trip.  Finley had an amazing time!  She was selected as the Rebel Spy, got a pirate flag in Pirates of the Caribbean, a necklace at French Market, was offered as a trade in the Jungle Cruise and was first picked during Turtle Talk with Crush.  Not to mention she was selected for Jedi Training in the first show we attended.  All in all an amazing trip with a lucky little girl!

Happy Birthday Avery!

Finley went once around on roller skates, once around on roller blade and about 100 times around on Raffers. Roller skating was definitely not for Finley. She kept leaning back and was really frightened. I am so glad we brought Raffers, Finley had a blast scooting around the roller rink. Add in some pizza and cupcakes and it was pretty much a dream birthday party for Finley. I don't think it bodes well for any ice skating this winter. Happy birthday Avery!

Lunch on Ajax Mountain

On our last Aspen visit, we met Clifton at lunch to take the Gondola up to the top of Ajax Mountain. There is a restaurant up top and Finley was so excited to play up there. There are so many fun activities for kids. Finley had so much fun digging for "gold" in the sandbox. She found a big piece and was super excited to add it to her nature basket back at the house.

Tubing with Max

Max and Finley had a blast tubing around the lake. It was Max's first time on a boat and he was quite brave going out on the tube. It took several boat trips for us to get Finley to go on the tube with Clifton.

Instagram Fun

First Day of Pre-K

It is Finley's third year at pre-school and she couldn't be more excited. We got to school about five minutes before the start and she couldn't wait to go in her class. I still cannot believe we are starting her last year of pre-school. It seems like just yesterday she was starting school. I am so thrilled she enjoys it so much.  A look back at the first day of school 2011 and 2012, her backpack is still going strong!

First Chairlift Ride

Finley took her first ever chairlift ride today and so did daddy. We took the Gondola up to Elk Camp in Snowmass and then took the chairlift up to the top of the mountain. Finley did great on the chairlift, she wasn't scared at all, she even held her hands up for most of the ride. She compared riding it to Soarin'! Hopefully it will be that easy in the winter with skis on.
