Little Bigs and the Zoo

Finley and I ventured over to Hermann Park for lunch at Little Bigs. Finley loved the french fries and the chicken sliders. Too bad they no longer serve the mushroom sliders, such a disappointment. We got a great table by the duck pond and enjoyed the wonderful weather we are having today, you cannot beat 70s and sunny in January.
Loving the fries!
Enjoying the view!
After lunch, we went to the zoo. Finley got to pet a chinchilla at a presentation at the Children's zoo. We also got to see an orangutan up real close. So neat! Finley also had a great time crawling around in the prairie dog tunnels. I see lots of fun in our future at the Children's zoo.
Such a lovely walk home...

Pretty Play Time

Finley has a new box to play with and we are going to keep it at least all weekend long. She loves riding around it, who wouldn't!

All you need is a water bottle

and it is a great day in Finley's eyes. She spent hours playing with the water bottle. All sorts of toys and all she wanted was the water bottle. To her credit, it does make a fun, crinkly sound when you smoosh it. It's fun up high!
Real high!
It's fun to pretend to drink
It's fun to throw between your legs
It's fun to bang on the table
Real fun
It's fun to hit Wrigley with it
It's fun to sit with it
After all that fun, Finley took a cookie break with the yuumy cookies Lori had made with her
Back to playing in the kitchen
Whatcha cooking?
So proud of her culinary skills
Let me grab the cutting board.
Trying to get some dishes
Got it!

How can this sweet face...

be such a bully? I just see a sweet little angel =)

I took this pictures just before we headed to the Children's Museum. She looks so innocent...little did I know that the wrath of Finley would come out!

Turtle Time

My sorority, Delta Zeta, has a turtle as their mascot and the colors of pink and green. How happy was I to see that Gymboree had a turtle collection for girls for the spring. Of course, I had to get the entire outfit for Finley, good thing I had Gymbucks to use, since it was quite a splurge. We have a turtle headband, turtle socks, turtle jumper, turtle pajamas...once it goes on sale some more, I will stock up on more turtle gear. G-ma was over to babysit last night, she said that Clifton had a turtle romper that she had made that looked very similar to Finley's dress, I bet it wasn't pink though =)

Go Marathoners! Go Ly!

Finley and I walked 2.62 miles this morning to support our friend Ly, who was running 26.2 miles in the Chevron Houston Marathon this morning. She was looking great and we cheered her on. We are so proud of Ly, what a huge accomplishment.

Children's Museum and Meeting Mia

It was rainy and cool yesterday, so our playgroup met at the Children's Museum for an afternoon of playtime fun. Miss Finley was quite the challenge, she pushed a couple kids trying to get toys and even tried to shut the play doors on other babies. These are some things we are going to have to work on. She had a great time sliding on the slide and climbing all around. She also really enjoyed the playhouse with the play dishes, it must remind her of her play table and kitchen.
After the Museum, we went to Auntie Kristina's to meet her new kitten, Mia. Finley was very gentle with the kitten and loved to pet her. They both had fun playing with the kitten toys. I think Finley wants a kitten to play with!
