Happy Easter!

I got a neat egg decorating kit from Pottery Barn Kids and it had a tool to make eggs without hardboiling them. You blow out the egg white and yolk, it is so cool! I had a couple break on me, but I much prefer it to the traditional hardboiling.

Finley's Easter basket is hidden. Too bad she can't eat peanut butter eggs or Cadbury eggs yet, looks like I will have to eat them for her.

Lazy Saturday Morning...

Finley stayed in her PJs until 10:30am this morning~ it was a lazy morning. During her nap, Clifton and I got all the new flowers planted out front. Once they perk up, I will grab some pictures of Finley in all the purple prettiness.

Yesterday we had two firsts: her first playgroup and her first bloody nose. She was completely curious during playgroup. Four little boys came over for some fun, Finley was overwhelmed with all the flirting! The bloody nose wasn't nearly as fun. She woke up from her nap all bloody, it was scary! She seems to be feeling much better now.

She was sitting pretty good for the last couple of weeks, but now she seems intent on standing. She locks her knees whenever I try to sit her on a blanket. She likes the view from up high!

Raffers arrived and I cannot wait for her to be able to use it. She needs just a couple more inches of growth and a whole lot more coordination.

Pre-Easter, Niko Nikos and Hermann Park

This past Sunday was an eventful day. We had a tasty lunch at Niko Nikos, then spent the afternoon in Hermann Park. Finley got her Easter basket from Grammy and Grandad and was super excited to read all her new books.

Babies love Baseball!!!

Ready to go!
Ticket action shot
I hate that the Cubs are winning...boo hoo

We took Finley to her first baseball game tonight to see the Astros play their opening day game against the Chicago Cubs. Finley did great during the game, sometimes the loud cheering startled her, but overall she was a happy camper. Too bad the Cubs won. The Astros tried to have a comeback in the 9th, but they just fell short.

Twenty One Weeks Old

I cannot believe how old she is! She will be five months old this Thursday, which is also Clifton and I's four year anniversary. Time sure does fly.

Don't bother me....I'm CRABBY

We picked up 20 pounds of Texas blue crab from Fiesta yesterday, quite a treat! Grandma Matuska, Aunt Rose, cousin Faith and Ferrell came to join in the crabby fun. There were hot dogs and sausage for the non-crab eaters, but why wouldn't you want to enjoy crab? Next year Finley will be able to try some, I wonder if she will like Old Bay. I know she is going to love crabmeat, it is the world's most perfect food.

Finley had the cutest crab dress from Grandma Engleman to wear, it really got her in the crabby spirit. .

Raffers is Coming!

My favorite toy as a little kid was a giraffe named Raffers. You could ride him or push him, he was all around a great toy. Since toys like him are now plastic and not wood, they aren't nearly as nifty as Raffers was. Thank goodness my parents keep everything so Finley gets to enjoy Raffers! They are bringing him this weekend, I bet she will really enjoy it.

Note the awesome Winnie the Pooh footie pajamas. I wish they made them in adult size. I remember being so sad when they no longer came in my size. They had ones without feet, but what good was that?!!?

Tripod Sitting!

Auntie Marianne was explaining how Finley's awkward sitting had a name: tripod sitting. She is getting quite good at it, she stays up for about 30 seconds or so before she keels over to the left or right, which doesn't seem to phase her one bit. We also had quite the accessory show: hats, bows, oh my!

Doesn't she look so relaxed sitting in her glider?

Twenty Weeks Old

A little late in posting~ Aunties Neon, Courtney, Marianne and Shannon came over for brunch. Finley was most excited to see baby Max, they had a great time watching us all =) One day they will be able to eat ice cream cake with us!
