So many smiles!

I finally got something that I could really confirm as a real smile from Finley. And once she did it, she didn't want to stop. She did her normally leg kicking dancing while she played under her Rainforest gym, but she smiled the whole time. It was completely adorable. She still looks completely like Clifton, but I see a little bit of my baby smile in her face.

Here are some pics~ I caught the first on on camera. I love having an SLR, thanks mom and dad!
The first smile action shot:

Six Weeks Old Today

Finley has been enjoying her visit with Auntie Heather (which I still have yet to grab a picture of!). Clifton has been sick with a major sore throat and temperature, so I have been on full time Finley duty. Hopefully, he is better soon and even more hopefully neither Finley or I catch whatever illness he has. So far so good.

Since he wasn't feeling well, I took this as a chance to move her from the cradle in our room to her crib. She did great! No tears at all and slept two five hour stretches in her nursery. She has been getting 6 to 7 hours lately, but I will take the five hour sleeping since she moved to a new room, such a big change for such a little baby.

We are going to brunch today with our Aunties Shannon, Lori, Heather and Kristina.

Here are the six week pictures. I also got a full on smiling session (the first time I can attribute it to real smiling not gas), but that deserves its own post.

Finley already Loves Baseball

We all know she is singing along in her head..."Root, root, root for the Orioles. If they don't win it's a shame"

Auntie Neon comes for a visit!

We have had so many visitors and I have been terrible about taking pictures with our guests. I vow to be better about that in the future and I started with taking this cute pic of Finley with Auntie Neon. Neon found out that she is having a little boy this coming May, the name has yet to be determined. I am super excited for her and for Finley to have a new playmate.

The Girliest Nursery Ever

For those of you who haven't had a chance to visit Finley or live too far to do so, here is her nursery. It is the pinkest place in the world. The only thing left to do in it is to hang her sampler, but that is currently in the frame shop.

Rainforest Adventure Part II

The Rainforest Bouncer arrived yesterday and I got it assembled this morning. She is already obsessed with it and she loves to bat at the toucan. I wonder if she realizes that when she hits it, it plays the sounds and the waterfall moves. Clifton would say she is such a genius that she has already caught on. There is something about the waterfall, even I can stare at it for awhile. Very relaxing.

I needed to calm her down after I accidentally set the swing to level 5. Whoops, she was swinging so hard that she spit up and it was only for a few seconds. I thought I had shut the swing off, but had increased the speed.

Fun times with the bouncer:

First Snow!!!

One month and one day old and Finley has experienced her first snow. It is also a first for me, I have never seen it snow in Houston before. She spent all of a minute or two in it, but she was all bundled up. Thank goodness she had her hat and blanket that Aunt Audrey knitted for her. She looks so warm and snuggly!

Is she scared of the snow?

One Month Old Today!

I cannot believe a month has past since Finley was born! She has certainly changed a lot during this first month. The only real baby book milestones thus far are that she can hold her head up, which she has been doing since day one, and that she rolled over last Friday, November 5, 2008. Quite the little prodigy (at least in our eyes!).

Here is a picture from November 9, 2008.

And a picture from today, December 9, 2008.
Still sleeping away! She still has all her hair, I was so nervous she might lose it like I did. It seems to be getting thicker and growing longer, so I take that as a good sign. It even has a little curl to it. She is so cute when it is all spiked up.

Four Weeks Old

Are we ever going to run out of adorable pink outfits for Finley's weekly pictures? With so many wonderful gifts, I think it will be quite awhile before we see her in a repeat. She went to the doctor this week and is up to 23 inches and 9 pounds and 10 ounces, she is growing so fast!

Here is the weekly pic and a compilation of all the pics thus far, plus some cute pictures from this morning.

Argh!!! I finally caught the pirate face~

The mystery "f" onesie and some really cute babylegs

A couple weeks ago we received a mysterious envelope in the mail. It had no return address and the postmark was from a town outside Fort Worth. There was no card inside, just this adorable onesie with an "f" on it. I feel awful not being able to thank whomever gave it to Finley, so if anyone knows anything, please let me know!

Also, I am loving Baby Legs now that the weather is cold. It makes it so much easier to change her and they look completely adorable.

In medical news:

bad: Finley has a faint heart murmur (same as her mom)
good: she has gained two pounds since she was born, grow, baby, grow

Our first real playdate

Finley had her first real playdate last night with Joe. And I got to have a great dinner prepared by Joe's mom and dad, it was a fantastic night and it was great to get out of the house after it being so cold out the past few days. Finley adored Joe's Rainforest bouncer, I think it is a must have. She could stare at the waterfall for hours. Looks like we will be making a trip to Babies R Us very soon.

Here are a couple of pics from their "date".

Finley's Holiday Tree

Finley has her very own, Finley sized holiday tree in her room. I am still looking for something to go on the top of it, but so far, Wrigley has been most entertained by the tree. So I had to move the ornaments from the bottom of the tree.

The tiny butterfly ornaments, a gift from Neon, fit perfectly on the tree. It provides the perfect amount of light for night time feedings, so that Finley and I may both stay in a half asleep state.

Three weeks old today!

It is Finley's third week and she has celebrated all morning long with lots and lots of crying, lets hope her day gets better soon! Maybe she is just nervous about the Redskins-Giants game, hopefully the Redskins will come out victorious and calm her nerves a bit.

Here are her third week pictures:

Finley had a great time last night when she got to meet the Groves and J. She even had her second trip to a Mexican restaurant.

It's a Rainforest Adventure!

Finley enjoys her Rainforest Gym, but only for short amounts of time. She gets quickly frustrated with not being able to hold her head up for long enough periods to take it all in. Her favorites so far seem to be the elephant and the monkey.

Add Video
Finley also really likes her hair bows, but her father keeps hiding them from her, poor Finners. Her pink bow was last seen here with Clifton, but it has been missing ever since

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a great first Thanksgiving for Finley! She was a bit fussy at the start of dinner, I think she was just very jealous that we got to eat turkey and stuffing...next year, next year. Once again, her Orbit rocks and we pulled it right up to the dining room table to be part of the action.

It's almost time for X-Mas decorating!

I used to think decorating the day after Thanksgiving was early, now I seem to be lagging behind the masses in getting my holiday decor up this year. So many of my friends have already decked their halls (some in October!).

I cross stitched some new stockings for the family and my aunt had them sewn to perfection
I have a small tree ready to put in Finley's nursery, in pink of course!
